flag Andorra Andorra: Trade Profile

Foreign Trade in Figures

Andorra is very open to international trade and constitutes to function as a tax haven for companies and individuals. In spite of not being a member of the European Union, the country is treated as an EU member in terms of trading manufacturing goods (without applying customs duties), but as a non-EU member in the case of agricultural products. Customs duties do not exist in Andorra, the country is easily accessible and likewise, there are no trade barriers. The lack of custom duties and reduced or non-existent taxes have made of Andorra an important international center of retail trade that attracts millions of shoppers from all over Europe.

The country imports much more than what it exports and its trade deficit is a consequence of this. The main trading partner of the Principality is the European Union (especially Spain and France). The relations with the European Union are managed by a commercial treaty signed on June 28, 1990, which establishes a Customs Union for industrial products and outlines special provisions for agricultural products.
